Job summary

Manulife is seeking a highly analytical Actuarial Assistant Manager/Manager to join its Actuarial Function. You will work with the team to drive business decisions and financial forecasting, bridging junior staff and management.

Responsibilities include supporting pricing, portfolio/asset modeling and valuation, while collaborating across functions to deliver precise projections and robust risk management. Hybrid work setup offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related field.
• At least 3 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
• Progress toward SOA/ASP designation.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with AXIS, SQL, QlikView, Python desirable.

We're looking for a highly-analytical and detail-oriented Actuarial Assistant Manager / Manager to join our Actuarial Function at MGS. In this role, you will work closely with our Actuarial team to drive key business decisions and shape our company's financial future with your business acumen and analytical skillset. As the bridge between junior members and management, you'll be at the heart of a collaborative team that values your professional development.

Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our skilled team of actuaries to support the company's strategic data analysis, risk assessment, and business planning.
• Assist in the management of our skilled team of actuaries to support the company's strategic data analysis, risk assessment, and business planning.
• Support the business in tasks that may include the following:
  • Pricing
  • Portfolio Modeling
  • Asset Modeling
  • Valuation
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure precise financial projections, optimal pricing strategies, and effective risk-management solutions.
• Drive innovation by staying at the forefront of industry trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related field
• At least 3 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services
• Progress towards attaining a designation in any recognized actuarial organization (SOA, ASP)
• Working experience in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, Qlikview, Python or similar program is a plus.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information, results, and recommendations to various levels across the organization.
• Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to work in an evolving and dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build camaraderie across levels and business functions.
