Job summary

PM Consulting seeks an Accounting Sr. Associate (US GAAP) to support healthcare and life sciences accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely client outputs, and effective coordination between offshore and onshore teams.

This role drives month-end close, maintains compliance, and aids process improvements in a dynamic client-service environment. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 4+ years of accounting experience (1+ in healthcare or biotech),

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• CPA preferred but not required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1+ year in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology industry.
• Strong experience in month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
• Familiarity with healthcare/life sciences operations, project costing, or contractor-based accounting is an advantage.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP/AP tools.

Responsibilities

• Support healthcare and life sciences accounting engagements, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of client work products.
• Lead and oversee month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and outputs are accurate and complete.
• Review work prepared by team members to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance prior to final submission.
• Collaborate with offshore teams, managers, senior leadership, and clients to align deliverables, manage expectations, and support accounting strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality control procedures, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform corporate accounting functions, including cash management, accounts receivable/accounts payable, payroll, and benefits accounting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, consolidations, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through clear and responsive communication.
• Support the mentoring, training, and development of junior team members.
• Ensure adherence to professional ethics and regulatory standards (e.g., AICPA and applicable state requirements).
• Manage multiple priorities and ensure timely completion of deliverables within budget and deadlines.
• Act as a technical resource for accounting systems, tools, and processes.
• Proactively escalated issues and communicate challenges to leadership.

• Understanding of HIPAA regulations is preferred
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP/AP tools
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
