Job summary

SYSTRA, a global engineering group, is seeking an Accounting Officer in the Philippines to support staff timesheets, supplier invoices, and month-end closings. You will work under the Support Function Transformation Manager and collaborate with the Regional Shared Services team to ensure accurate and timely financial processing.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting/Finance, with CA/CPA preferred, 5+ years in accounting within transportation consultancy, and proficiency in IFRS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CA/CPA qualification is preferred.
• LCC/Diploma in Finance/Accounting acceptable.
• 5+ years accounting/admin experience in a transportation consultancy.
• Familiarity with IFRS and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Agresso is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Process staff timesheets and related tasks.
• Handle surveyor timesheets and input journal vouchers.
• Record accounting entries and related processes.
• Process supplier invoices and accounts payable.
• Prepare payments with supporting documentation.
• Maintain internal controls over finance processes.
• Support month-end/year-end closings and reports.
• Assist external/internal audits as required.
• Suggest process improvement actions.
• Perform general clerical work for Finance team.

Context

The Accounting Officer will be reporting to the Support Function Transformation Manager and working under the supervision of the relevant SYSTRA Group Support and Transversal Manager (including SYSTRA’s Southeast Asia entities: China, Hong Kong, Singapore & Thailand).

Key responsibilities include ead processing of timesheets, handling supplier invoices and accounts payable, and supporting month-end/year-end closings and reports.

Missions/Main Duties

• Responsible for processes around staff timesheets and related works.
• Handles surveyor timesheets and input journal voucher.
• Records accounting entries related to the processes.
• Handles supplier invoices and payment Accounts Payable.
• Prepares payments by verifying supporting documentation versus the company policies’ requirements.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls around Finance processes.
• Supports month-end/year-end closing activities and submission of management reports.
• Provides external and internal audit requirements as may be requested.
• Recommends action items that may improve processes.
• Handles general clerical works and supports for the Finance team.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance and Regional Shared Services.

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and Business related courses.
• CA/CPA equivalent qualification (Accounting certification or tertiary degree)
• LCC/Diploma in Finance or Accounting.
• At least (5) years accounting/admin experience in a transportation consultancy firm.
• Knowledge in accounting software. Prior experience in Agresso accounting system is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft applications (Word, Powerpoint and Excel).
• Advanced Excel user (e.g. Pivot Table, VLookup etc).
• Knowledgeable in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Good interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, team player.
• Analytical and be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Good command of written and spoken English
