Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience supervising preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Strong month-end and year-end closing expertise.
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Monitor and analyze financial data, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Ensure proper documentation and controls over sales, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS) transactions.
• Coordinate and maintain accounting systems and procedures aligned with retail operations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Partner with operations and management to monitor financial performance against targets and identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage internal and external audit requirements and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, government reporting requirements, and corporate financial policies.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff to build capability and performance.
