At Apptain we're looking for an Accounting and Finance Lead to join our team (Manila-based).

About the job

We are looking for an Accounting & Finance Lead who will take full ownership of the company’s financial operations — from day-to-day accounting and compliance to strategic financial management. This role ensures the integrity of all financial data, maintains proper internal controls, and supports decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing accounting cycles, tax compliance, payroll validation, and financial reporting while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and collaboration with our international finance partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting & Records Management
    • Oversee the full accounting cycle from transaction recording to month-end and year-end closing.
    • Maintain and update official books of accounts.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records in Zoho Books and supporting financial spreadsheets.
    • Safeguard financial documents by maintaining organized digital and physical files.
  • Banking & Cash Management
    • Manage daily bank transactions, reconciliations, and fund transfers.
    • Record and monitor cash inflows and outflows, including payroll, reimbursements, government dues, and vendor payments.
    • Prepare consolidated bank reports and coordinate regularly with international finance counterparts.
  • Payroll & Personnel Costs
    • Review and validate payroll and personnel cost sheets prepared by HR.
    • Oversee salary disbursement and ensure timely compliance with SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions and filings.
  • Tax & Government Compliance
    • Prepare and file company and employee tax returns (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
    • Ensure strict compliance with BIR regulations, including Alphalist submissions and proper documentation.
    • Liaise with auditors, consultants, and government agencies on compliance matters.
  • Fixed Assets & Amortization
    • Maintain and update fixed asset registers, depreciation, and amortization schedules.
    • Review asset-related expenses for proper capitalization and record disposals or replacements as necessary.
  • Budgeting & Reporting
    • Assist in preparing and monitoring monthly and annual budgets.
    • Generate accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Finance Operations & Controls
    • Implement and monitor internal controls across accounting and finance processes.
    • Manage finance-related mailboxes and tools (Datev, Scopevisio, Pliant, etc.).
    • Process intercompany transactions and internal recharges.
Required skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong understanding of Philippine accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (Zoho Books preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and initiative.
  • Experience in multi-entity or international setups is a plus.
