Key Responsibilities
1. General Accounting
- Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
- Assist in maintaining the General Ledger and supporting schedules.
- Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
- Monitor and organize accounting documents and supporting schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and management reports.
2. Cash and Bank Reconciliation
- Assist in monitoring daily cash collections and bank deposits.
- Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unusual items.
- Verify cash-related supporting documents and ensure proper recording in the accounting system.
- Monitor transfers between bank accounts and other cash accounts.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation for cash movements.
3. Accounts Payable and Expenses
- Process invoices, bills, and payment requests after verifying completeness and supporting documents.
- Ensure expenses are properly coded to the appropriate account, department, and cost center.
- Maintain an updated schedule of outstanding payables.
- Assist in preparing payment vouchers and supporting documents.
- Monitor recurring expenses and assist in identifying unusual or duplicate transactions.
4. Casino Promotions & Complimentary Expenses
- Assist in recording and monitoring casino promotional expenses, player complimentary expenses, loyalty points, and other promotional activities in the books of accounts.
- Reconcile promotional expenses against approved budgets and supporting documents.
- Maintain supporting schedules for promotions and player-related expenses.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Casino Operations, and Finance to ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation.
- Assist in monitoring actual promotional expenses versus approved budgets.
5. Tax and Regulatory Support
- Assist the Finance Supervisor in preparing schedules and supporting documents for BIR, PAGCOR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized records for tax filings, withholding taxes, VAT, and other applicable tax requirements.
- Assist in reconciling tax-related accounts and schedules.
- Ensure accounting records are properly supported for internal and external audits.
6. Audit & Documentation
- Prepare documents and schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
- Maintain organized and complete accounting files and supporting documents.
- Assist in responding to audit queries and resolving documentation issues.
- Ensure proper confidentiality and safekeeping of financial and gaming-related information.
7. Financial Reporting & Analysis Support
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management schedules.
- Prepare basic variance analysis of actual versus budget.
- Assist in monitoring departmental expenses and operating costs.
- Provide accounting data and schedules requested by management.
8. Internal Controls
- Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure transactions are properly authorized and supported before recording or processing.
- Report unusual transactions, discrepancies, missing documentation, or potential control issues to the Accounting Officer or Finance Manager.
- Maintain strict confidentiality over casino financial, player, employee, and operational information.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business course.
- Accounting graduate is preferred.
Experience
- Preferably 1–2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in casino, gaming, and hospitality is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with strong accounting knowledge may be considered.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting systems is an advantage.
- Ability to perform reconciliations and basic financial analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
