Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Lease Accountant, Leasing Operations to manage the accounting and administration of the company’s global lease portfolio. This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, advanced Excel, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Reporting to the Lease Accounting Senior Manager, you will support month‑end close, financial reporting, and SOX controls, while handling Lucernex lease activities, journal entries, reconciliations, audits, and ad hoc analyses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance functions.
• Knowledge of US GAAP or local accounting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
• Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Cloud, or ERP systems preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Self-starter and team player.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting and review of lease transactions under US GAAP (ASC 842), IFRS, and internal controls.
• Manage lease accounting activities within Lucernex: setup, modification reviews, journal entries.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities and reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analyses for lease-related accounts.
• Support quarterly/annual financial reporting and lease disclosures.
• Maintain SOX controls related to lease accounting processes.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Finance, and cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy.
• Assist audits with documentation and responses to inquiries.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis.
• Participate in system enhancements as needed.

Job Summary

The Lease Accountant, Leasing Operations, is responsible for the accounting and administration of the Company's global lease portfolio. This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to effectively partner with cross-functional organizations. The position supports lease accounting compliance, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and process improvement initiatives and reports to the Lease Accounting Senior Manager.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accounting and review of lease transactions in compliance with US GAAP (ASC 842), IFRS, company policies, and internal control requirements
• Manage lease accounting activities within Lucernex, including lease setup, modification reviews, and generation of accounting entries.
• Participate in month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and review of lease-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement flux analyses for lease-related accounts and investigate significant variances.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements, including lease disclosures and control certifications.
• Maintain and execute SOX controls related to lease accounting processes and ensure compliance with internal control standards.
• Partner with Real Estate, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data and accounting treatment.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, analyses, and responses to audit inquiries.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Participate in special projects and system enhancement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance functions
• Knowledge of US GAAP or local accounting standard
• Strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision and within tight deadlines in the fast-paced environment
• Experienced with Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Cloud, R12 or other ERP systems preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Self-starter and team player with a positive attitude
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
