About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Taguig City, Metro Manila on a full-time basis. This role is fundamental to maintaining the financial health and compliance of our organization. As an Accountant, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting management decision-making, and upholding our commitment to fiscal responsibility within the petroleum industry.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconciling bank statements and resolving any discrepancies or inconsistencies
- Supporting the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations
- Performing cost analysis and variance analysis to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies and procedures
- Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software
What we're looking for
- Professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- A recognized accounting qualification or professional membership (such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) or working towards such qualification
- Proven experience as an Accountant or Assistant Accountant, preferably in the energy or petroleum sector
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and implement solutions
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team environment
