Private Advertiser in Taguig City, Metro Manila, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time basis. This role is essential to maintaining financial health and compliance within the petroleum sector.

You will prepare and maintain financial records, support management decisions, and ensure fiscal responsibility. The ideal candidate has accounting qualifications, strong Excel skills, and GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• A recognized accounting qualification or professional membership (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) or working towards such qualification.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or Assistant Accountant, preferably in the energy or petroleum sector.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial work.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconciling bank statements and resolving any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
• Supporting the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
• Performing cost analysis and variance analysis to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues.
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software.
