About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical, and trustworthy Accounting Officer to join our finance team in Makati City. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining our financial integrity, managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations (BIR), and preparing accurate financial reporting to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries and financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) in accordance with PFRS/IFRS.
- Conduct monthly closing activities and variance analysis to monitor budget vs. actual performance.
2. Transaction Management (AP & AR)
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP): review vendor invoices, verify supporting documents (ORs, Sales Invoices), and prepare payment vouchers/disbursements.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): generate client billing invoices, monitor collections, send payment reminders, and perform aging analyses.
- Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and cash/bank disbursements.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor daily cash flows, petty cash funds, and assist in cash management planning.
4. Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings
- Prepare, calculate, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual local tax returns with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) (e.g., VAT/Non-VAT, Withholding Taxes, Income Tax).
- Ensure accurate maintenance of official BIR books of accounts.
- Assist with annual government permits renewal and compliance filings (LGU Mayor's Permit, SEC, etc.).
- Handle government-mandated benefit remittances and reporting (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) in coordination with HR/Payroll.
5. Audit, Budgeting & Internal Controls
- Assist in internal and external audit procedures by preparing schedules, financial reports, and required audit documentation.
- Support management in annual budget preparation, forecasting, and expense monitoring to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Enforce internal control policies and ensure strict adherence to company financial guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology
Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of proven experience as an Accounting Officer, General Accountant, or similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine tax laws (BIR regulations), local statutory compliance and PFRS/IFRS.
