Job summary

MicroSourcing International is seeking a skilled 3D Designer (Offshore) to convert 2D drawings into 3D models, detail facade components, and generate BOMs for manufacturing. You will model, clash-check, and document accurate production packs for internal and external suppliers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in sheet metal manufacturing, strong 2D/3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and ERPs familiarity while working a mid-shift, work-from-home setup. Join a diverse, growth-focused team.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Convert customer-provided 2D general arrangement drawings into approved systems, incorporating standard components, product types, jointing, and fixing arrangements.
• Detail and model façade components and support systems using 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, with Inventor or Solid Edge experience also beneficial.
• Assemble 3D models to identify clashes and verify correct alignment and integration with other components.
• Create 3D models of cladding panels, metal fabrications, and support brackets based on customer-provided 2D fabrication drawings for manufacturing use.
• Prepare manufacturing packs containing technical drawings, BOMs, and cutting lists for in-house fabrication and external suppliers.
• Generate parts lists, BOMs, and fixing lists for modeled components.
• Verify and clearly document critical measurements to support accurate and reliable production.
• Ensure customer order information and drawings are transferred accurately and efficiently into production-ready documentation.
• Help reduce processing time and minimize the risk of manufacturing errors through accurate modeling and detailing.

Your Role

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• At least five years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and other relevant IT applications.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when interpreting technical drawings, modeling components, and documenting measurements.
• Ability to translate customer drawings and specifications into accurate manufacturing documentation.

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Experience with Autodesk Inventor or Solid Edge.
• Background in façade systems, cladding panels, metal fabrication, or support bracketry.
• Experience preparing manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, cutting lists, and fixing schedules.
• Knowledge of component assembly, clash detection, alignment, and integration in 3D CAD environments.
