UK-Med Register - Primary Care/General Practice Nurse

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care and support to patients in need of clinical case management during humanitarian response.
  • Lead in organizing, overseeing, and strategizing patient care activities with a primary focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team lead, medical doctors, and paramedics to manage clinic and in-patient care and ensure appropriate referral to further medical attention.
  • Manage multiple streams of work and act as a technical resource to support context-related activities, ensuring best practice and global standards of patient care are implemented and maintained.
  • Play a central role in building local capacity of field staff (e.g., Ministry of Health or other NGOs) in related areas through training delivery.
Qualifications
  • Current nursing license and unconditional membership of a suitable registering organisation.
  • Qualifications / professional registrations in Nursing Science/Degree.
  • Experience: 3-4 years (as listed in job details).
  • Language skills are advantageous.
Details
  • Location: Internationally and/or to any of the UK-Med responses.
  • Hours: UK-Med Register role, no guarantee of any work; if deployed, work will be full-time.
  • Remuneration: GBP £3,400 – £4,000 Gross per month (dependent on level of role and context).
  • Duration: Register members who deploy will be offered fixed-term contracts; most responses are between 4 and 12 weeks.
  • Availability: Able to travel and work internationally at short notice for a minimum of 4-6 weeks (longer availability desirable).
