BairesDev is seeking a Software Engineer (Apache Kafka) to design, implement, and optimize real-time data pipelines in a fully remote role. You will work with Kafka, Kafka Streams, Avro, and Confluent Schema Registry to build scalable streaming solutions and ensure data quality.

The position requires 4+ years of experience in data or software engineering and excellent English, with a global, diverse team.

• Proven expertise building real-time data pipelines with Apache Kafka.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures at scale.
• Hands-on with Kafka Streams, Confluent, and Avro for data serialization.

• Design, implement, and manage production-grade Kafka clusters and streaming apps.
• Develop real-time data integration pipelines using Kafka Connect and Kafka Streams.
• Optimize cluster performance, topic configs, and resource utilization for high-scale environments.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and manage production-grade Kafka clusters and streaming applications.

• Implement robust data schemas and versioning strategies using Avro and Confluent Schema Registry.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define event-driven standards and streaming best practices.
• Ensure system availability and data integrity through proactive monitoring and disaster recovery planning.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Stream Processing.
• Proven expertise in building and operating real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing event-driven architectures at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams, Confluent, and Avro for data serialization.
• Deep understanding of streaming infrastructure management and performance tuning.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
