Job summary

Ogier Legal Limited is seeking a Senior Associate - Funds in Cayman to support high-quality legal advice across investment funds, private equity, and corporate matters. The role emphasizes building client relationships and mentoring junior fee earners.

Qualifications

• Qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 6+ years' post-qualification experience.
• LLB (Hons) from a reputable tertiary institution, with strong academic credentials and a minimum 2:1 classification (or equivalent).
• Experience with a leading law firm in investment funds, private equity, regulatory advisory and/or general corporate and commercial matters.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent drafting skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly.

Responsibilities

• Provide thoughtful, clear and technically sound legal advice;
• Confidently field legal questions from clients and intermediaries, working with more junior and more senior fee earners as required to prepare expert legal advice in a timely manner;
• Develop an in depth understanding of Ogier's standard documents and firm views and feed into their development;
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients, intermediaries and team members, and provide excellent client service;
• Prepare fee matter estimates and proposals, monitor scope of matters as they progress;
• Ensure timeliness of billing and debt collection;
• Ensure effective management of time, effort and resources to generate maximum efficiencies;
• Consider regulatory and compliance issues at all times and report any concerns to senior management as appropriate;
• Contribute to knowledge management and ensure such contributions are accurate and current;
• Build knowledge and experience in relevant practice areas to the highest standards;
• Provide support, guidance and mentoring to more junior members of the team; and
• Contribute to internal projects (including any initiatives identified and designated by Heads of Service Line, Partners or Director of Business Development).

Description

To support the delivery of high-quality legal advice and client service across a broad range of matters, while developing technical expertise, commercial awareness and strong relationships with clients, intermediaries and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
