A leading steel company is seeking a sales representative to focus on Special Steels products in the Mining Segment in Arequipa, Peru. The ideal candidate will develop new customer relationships, maintain existing ones, and ensure sales objectives are met while managing stock levels. Strong engineering background and sales experience in the mining sector are essential. Travel is required for this position.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with sales experience.
  • Knowledge of mining business dynamics in Peru.
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the sales of Special Steels products in the Mining Segment, Repair Mining Equipment and Mine Subcontractor in Peru, maintain constant and personalized contact with customers in the segment to achieve sales objectives following price and company guidelines, prospect and grow the customer base in the mining segment while keeping actual customers.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain excellent relationships with customers in the Mining Segment for Peru.
  • Visit and educate customers with the right application and use of our steels in the mining, repair and subcontractor mining equipment segments together with our Technical Development Manager.
  • Prospect, visit and develop new accounts in the Peru Mining segment.
  • Develop new applications of our steels in the Mining segment in Peru.
  • Establish short and long terms sales strategy for the mining segment while supporting our Hardox Wearparts network who participates in the fabrication of wearparts for the segment in Peru.
  • Follow SSAB price strategy and policies to achieve sales and margin objectives.
  • Manage stock levels and material orders to supply customers in a timely manner.
  • Participate in sales meetings and trade shows to promote our products.
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales highlight reports.
  • Complete and submit expense reports.
  • Maintain regular contact with departments such as inside sales, import-export, credit, supply chain, technical, and marketing.
Required
  • Engineering bachelor’s degree with sales experience in a related product field or exhibit skills developed in other positions.
  • Knowledge of market dynamics relative to the Peruvian mining business.
  • Responsible for large accounts, including interacting with upper management & purchasing departments.
  • Strong communication skills - oral and written, ability to write proposals and develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Proficient in English language – Both oral and written.
  • Availability to travel 60% of the time and work 80% to attend mining customer in Arequipa Zone (South of Peru).
Desirable
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication processes.
  • Basic financial knowledge
