About the Role

Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Prime Contract Manager to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Lima.

Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering Hatch contract commercial activities within large Clients’ projects with the aim to safeguard Clients’ assets through proper Prime Contract Management.

Minimize project risks through active analysis and application of commercial and contract management best practices. Administrate commercial agreements including sub-contracts for Hatch and Joint Venture partners.

Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Contract Execution (Post-Award) Stage: Participate in the transition phase from the formation to the project execution phase, establish proper commercial governance and Prime Contract management structure for each large project depending on the complexity of each project and structure of Prime Contract including other relevant agreements such as joint venture and consortium agreements.
  • Pro-actively manage all aspects of the Prime Contract including analysis of cost, schedule, and commercial risks and implement measures to mitigate and manage adverse impacts on the project and business case.
  • Implement the agreed contract payment terms and conditions into ‘Invoicing Guidelines’, ensure proper project set up and reflection of contract payment terms into existing Hatch systems.
  • Implement Prime Contract pricing and inflationary adjustments during all project phases, develop, with the Project Manager, the contractual relationships with sub-contractors, review the commercial terms and conditions under sub-contracts such that they consider, where appropriate, Prime Contract liabilities, project insurance, cash flow, and other payment-related issues.
  • Implement change management strategy working with the Project Manager and Controls Manager, monitor and coordinate the Prime Contract amendments, coordinate all Client commercial communications, track letters of credit/letters of guarantee and insurance certificates issued by Hatch in favour of Clients.
  • Review insurance policies provided by Clients for compliance with the Prime Contract insurance requirements, lead any claims and dispute resolution process.
Contract Closeout Stage

Issuance of final invoices, adjustments, account closeout, and collection of outstanding payments, resolution of outstanding contractual disputes, coordination of final certificates and releases of performance bonds, letters of guarantee, release of liens, etc.

Requirements

You bring to the role:

  • University degree at Bachelor or Master’s level in Law.
  • At least five to ten years’ experience in project management and contract management in a similar industry. At least 3 years on international projects.
  • FIDIC certification.
  • Ability to function well in a team environment.
  • Self-driven and quick to deliver.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience in leadership, management, and administrative processes.
  • Strong customer/client focus.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication.
Preferred

Knowledge of project management in industries such as mining and metals, Infrastructure, and energy, experience in large EPCM, EPC, EP, PMC, Design-Build, knowledge in contracts law or finance, familiar with FIDIC white and yellow contracts.

Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.
