Job summary

University of Salzburg is seeking a First Stage Researcher (R1) as a University Assistant without PhD to support research and teaching within the Department of Sport and Exercise Science. The role is 30 hours per week, temporary, with a starting date in December 2026 and a contract running through November 2030.

Responsibilities include academic support, independent research toward a doctoral dissertation, and teaching duties including examinations, along with enrollment in the doctoral program.

Qualifications

• Methodological expertise in sports physiology (e.g., spiroergometry, lactate sampling, ergometer/treadmill operation, modern sensor technologies).
• Methodological expertise in exercise science (endurance, strength, speed training, training planning, monitoring, documentation using software).
• Very good written and spoken English skills.
