Job summary

Pacific International Lines (PIL) Peru in Lima is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Executive to oversee day-to-day logistics operations and coordinate with carriers, partners, and customs authorities.

The role requires a degree in logistics-related field, at least 3 years in shipping/port operations, and strong English. The candidate will work within PIL's global network from Peru, ensuring efficient cargo flows and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Foreign Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in shipping and port operations in roles such as boarding clerk, operations assistant or executive, cargo flow position or related role.
• Experience in related industries (logistics, shipping or supply chain).
• Ability to understand complex processes, define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions) in practical situations.
• Knowledge of laws and rules applicable by authorities and local usages and customs in the ports under jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipping schedules and cargo movement with carriers, partners and customs authorities.
• Resolve operational issues, including delays, discrepancies, and damaged goods, in a timely manner.
• Conduct performance evaluations of operative partners and service providers.
• Maintain accurate records of ship calls, costs, and operational activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline operational processes and enhance efficiency.

• Comprobable experience in related industries (logistics, shipping or supply chain).
• Ability to understand complex processes, define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts (such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions) to practical situations.
• Knowledge of laws and rules applicable by authorities as well as local usages and customs in the ports under her/his jurisdiction.
• IT and System Requirements: MS Office package intermediate knowledge.
• Language: Good command level of English language written and spoken.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and practices.
• Proficiency in logistics management software.
