NXP Semiconductors in Gratkorn, Austria, seeks a Manager RF System Engineering to lead a team of RF experts in shaping smartcards, NFC charging and related wireless technologies.

You will drive RF validation strategies across global teams, mentor engineers, and optimize performance for ISO/IEC standards, NFC Forum, EMVCo, and WLC requirements, while enabling automation and AI-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical/Communications/Information Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6–8 years of RF system development, validation or related experience.
• Proven leadership on complex RF projects and across multiple teams.
• Strong knowledge of RF modulation, transmitter/receiver architectures and analog/mixed-signal concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RF validation team for Smartcards, NFC, and WLC across global cross-functional groups.
• Define validation strategies, root-cause analysis, and resolution of critical issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of RF validation processes, automation, and tools (AI/predictive methods).
• Mentor RF engineers through design reviews, validation planning, and development.
• Represent RF validation in reviews, customer engagements, and strategy discussions.

Join **NXP in Gratkorn** and **lead a team of RF experts** **shaping the future of Smartcards, UHF tags and NFC Wireless Charging**.**Your responsibilities:*** Leading the RF validation team with focus on Smartcards, UHF tags and NFC Wireless charging (WLC) across global, cross-functional development teams, ensuring alignment of technical objectives, schedules, pipeline management, quality targets, and project deliverables* Provide technical leadership for complex RF validation challenges, driving root-cause analysis, defining validation strategies, and enabling effective resolution of critical product issues throughout the development lifecycle* Serve as the recognized RF validation expert and escalation point for complex technical issues, influencing technical decisions and promoting best practices across projects and organizations* Drive continuous improvement of RF validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and software tools to improve quality and coverage* Improve efficiency using AI methodologies* Mentor and guide RF engineers through technical reviews, debugging activities, validation planning, and professional development* Optimize RF performance of contactless products with respect to ISO/IEC 14443, ISO/IEC 15693, ISO/IEC 18000-63, NFC Forum, EMVCo and WLC requirements* Represent the RF validation domain in project reviews, architecture discussions, customer engagements, and strategic planning activities* Collaborate with global stakeholders to share knowledge across sites and drive alignment of RF validation processes **Your profile:*** Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Information Engineering, or a related technical discipline* Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in RF system development, validation, characterization, or related fields* Recognized technical expertise in RF communication systems, including modulation techniques, coding schemes, transmitter and receiver architecture, and analog/mixed-signal concepts* Proven track record of leading complex technical projects and influencing decisions across multiple teams and locations* Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership without direct people-management responsibility* Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively collaborate across international and multicultural teams* Software and automation skills, preferably including Python, MATLAB, data analysis frameworks and AI tools are an advantage* Experience with RF simulation and analysis tools such as ADS, Spice, or equivalent platforms* Self-driven, highly organized, and comfortable working independently on complex technical problems with broad organizational impact* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishPlease note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks.
