Bluelight is seeking a Senior Software Architect to design and oversee low-latency, secure, multi-tenant architectures in AWS. You will lead architecture reviews, mentor teams, and produce ADRs and diagrams to guide development across the stack.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software development including 3+ in architecture roles, strong PostgreSQL skills, and a proven ability to align technical decisions with client needs and business goals.

• 8+ years professional software development experience, with 3+ years in an architecture-focused role
• Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS, including judgment about when distributed components earn their place
• Experience designing to explicit latency budgets (p95/p99) and synchronous durable commits in hot paths
• Experience designing audit/evidence systems: append-only event logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic historical replay
• Experience designing fail-open/fail-closed/degraded-state semantics and outage postures
• Proven experience architecting secure multi-tenant environments with tradeoff analysis (RLS vs. schema-per-tenant)
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security at data-modeling/architecture level
• Expertise in designing and building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience architecting SDK integrations to other services
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack
• Experience building capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections (AWS Well-Architected)
• Experience establishing technical standards, architecture/code reviews, mentoring teams
• Experience producing architecture diagrams and ADRs
• Experience presenting architecture decisions in client reviews
• Experience working with AI coding assistants in daily development
• Substantial background architecting large, complex systems end-to-end
• Ability to overlap US business hours
