Job summary

Bluelight Consulting, Llc is seeking a Senior Full Stack and Backend NodeJS TypeScript/JavaScript Engineer for a remote role servicing Latin America. You'll focus on backend with Node.js/TypeScript, build low-latency APIs in AWS, and contribute to frontend work when needed.

We value ownership, scalability, and collaboration across distributed teams. A Bachelor's degree is required and US business hours overlap is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection testing.
• Experience with CI/CD application creation and maintenance.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Requirements

• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs

• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
