Mubadala Energy invites an experienced engineer to lead Pre-com & commissioning activities for subsea systems offshore. You will plan, coordinate, and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks ensuring safe startup and smooth handover to operations.

The role requires strong offshore leadership, extensive experience (10+ years) in subsea projects, and familiarity with international oil & gas codes. This is a third-party contractor engagement with offshore execution and HSSE emphasis.

Formación

• Minimum 10 years' experience in pre-commissioning & commissioning of subsea systems in oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of pigging operations and hydrotesting standards.
• Familiar with SNI, DNV-ST-N001, API standards and other oil & gas international codes.
• Excellent offshore coordination and leadership skills.

Role Purpose:

A Pre-commissioning & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all activities required to prepare a subsea system for safe startup and operation. This includes mechanical completion verification, testing, cleaning, and system handover to operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop/review pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for subsea systems (Gas Export Pipeline, Flowlines, Subsea Xmas Trees, PLETs, manifolds, umbilicals)
• Review design documents (P&IDs, Isometrics, alignment sheets, datasheets).
• Define method statements for:
• Flooding, cleaning, gauging
• Hydrostatic testing
• Dewatering and drying
• Prepare commissioning dossiers and system boundaries.

Plan/Execute/supervise/monitor/manage:

• Pipeline/Flowline cleaning (pigging, flushing)
• Gauging to confirm internal diameter integrity
• Hydrotest (strength & leak test)
• Test water sourcing, treatment, and disposal
• Chemical dosing (corrosion inhibitor, oxygen scavenger)
• Ensure compliance with specifications and codes (e.g., SNI, DNV, API).

3. Dewatering & Drying

Plan/Execute/supervise/monitor/manage:

• Dewatering using air or nitrogen pigging
• Drying to required dew point (e.g., -20°C or lower depending spec)
• Dew point measurement
• Prepare pipeline for hydrocarbon introduction.

Plan/Execute/supervise/monitor/manage:

• Leak testing

Interface with:

• Topside / FPSO / onshore facilities
• Support first hydrocarbon introduction.

5. Offshore Execution

Work onboard:

• Lay vessels
• Construction vessels
• FPSO
• Supervise subcontractors and vendors.
• Ensure execution aligns with project schedule and safety standards.

6. Documentation & Handover

Prepare:

• Test reports
• Punch lists
• System completion certificates (RFSU / RFO)
• Compile commissioning dossiers for handover to operations team.
• Ensure all QA/QC documentation is complete and approved.

7. HSSE Compliance

Implement HSSE procedures during all activities.

Conduct:

• Ensure safe handling of:
• High-pressure systems
• Chemicals

Experience:

• Minimum 10 yrs solid experience years in pre-commissioning & commissioning of subsea system in oil & gas.
