The maintenance of aircraft and their associated engines and sub-systems to ensure airworthiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as cowlings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units; using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills.
- Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other related documentation to determine feasibility and method of altering or repairing the aircraft and its components, ensuring airworthiness.
- Inspects engines and their components for airworthiness; repairs or replaces defective engine parts; removes and installs engines onto the aircraft.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces electrical wiring and associated components.
- Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including hydraulic system servicing, engine oil replenishment, aircraft systems lubrication, and fueling.
- Interacts with Company maintenance control, the customer, and manufacturer regarding aircraft airworthiness, operational readiness, and troubleshooting issues.
- Must have knowledge of U.S. Army Manual 95-1, DA/DOS PAM 738-750/751, U.S. Air Force Technical Orders, and maintenance sections of relevant manuals, operations specifications, and FAR Part 135 provisions.
- Position requires a U.S. Department of State Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current FAA-issued Mechanic certificate with both Airframe & Powerplant ratings.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience maintaining specific aircraft (e.g., Beechcraft 1900D) or similar multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft.
- At least 10 years of Fixed Wing experience, with a minimum of 6 months of exercised A&P License privilege in the last 24 months.
- Experience working from blueprints, diagrams, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and incomplete data.
- U.S. Security Clearance required.
- Host nation language proficiency: Spanish Level 2 (Listening and Reading) in LATAM countries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific airframes is highly preferred.
- Strong electrical/avionics background is a plus.
