Job summary

Erste Digital GmbH seeks a Digital Product Engineer to own digital banking products end-to-end, blending software engineering with product coordination. You will work across frontend, backend or full-stack, depending on the product and your strengths.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, Business, UX, Architecture and Engineering to translate requirements into concrete solutions, ensure reliability in production and drive architectural evolution with AI-assisted approaches.

Qualifications

Within our Daily Banking Experience department, you contribute to digital products that customers rely on for their everyday banking. Depending on the product and team, we work with technologies such as Java, .NET, React/LUNA, Angular, Camunda, Kafka and cloud technologies, while increasingly using AI and agentic engineering as part of everyday product development.

What to do:

As a Digital Product Engineer, you take technical ownership of digital banking products throughout their lifecycle – from understanding a need to running the solution in production. You combine software engineering (around 3 years of Java/React experience), technical analysis and product-level coordination. Instead of working within traditional role boundaries, you connect business needs with technology, turn requirements into solutions, contribute hands‑on to their implementation and help ensure that the product works reliably in production. You work closely with Product Owners, Business, UX, Architecture and Engineering and become a key technical contact for your product.

Understand & Shape

• Contribute to architectural evolution, modernization and the reduction of technical debt.

• Leverage AI-assisted and agentic engineering across analysis, specification, development and testing.

Connect & Coordinate

• Be a technical anchor for your product and connect Business, Product and Engineering.

• Take ownership beyond go-live and contribute to the stable and reliable operation of your product.

• Support incident resolution and root-cause analysis and turn learnings into sustainable improvements.

• Continuously improve security, resilience, performance and maintainability.

• Identify opportunities to simplify the product, automate work and improve engineering efficiency.
