Sezzle is seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer Intern to join a dynamic team focused on scalable data warehousing, ETL, and analytics.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and practical exposure to data pipelines, cloud platforms like AWS, and AI-assisted development. You will contribute to data reliability and operational efficiency while building real-world data engineering skills.

Formación

• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, relational concepts) and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar).
• Experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required; comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS) and data pipelines/ETL concepts.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in maintaining and improving data warehousing systems (AWS DMS, Redshift).
• Support the team in monitoring data pipelines, identifying issues, and troubleshooting basic problems.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for analytics and data validation.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to understand data needs and support use cases.
• Participate in testing, documentation, and improving reliability of data systems.
• Identify and automate repetitive daily manual processes, reducing overhead.
• Learn and explore new tools and technologies in the data ecosystem.

About the Role:

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in maintaining and improving our data warehousing systems (AWS DMS, Redshift).
• Support the team in monitoring data pipelines, identifying issues, and troubleshooting basic problems.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for analytics and data validation.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to understand data needs and support use cases.
• Participate in testing, documentation, and improving reliability of data systems.
• Identify and automate repetitive daily manual processes, reducing operational overhead and improving team efficiency.
• Learn and explore new tools and technologies in the data ecosystem.

What We Look For:

• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required; candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.
• Leveraged AI tools such as Claude to accelerate development workflows, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and enhance productivity.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Basic understanding of data pipelines or ETL concepts.
• Awareness of data warehousing concepts.
• Interest in big data or streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis Streams, Flink etc.)
