Stepping Stones Crisis Society is seeking Casual Crisis Intervention Specialists to provide crisis support for women and children in shelter. The role involves intakes, advocacy, and coordinating referrals while maintaining confidentiality.

You will work on morning, evening, and overnight shifts on a casual basis, with duties spanning frontline services, outreach, and program support. Candidates should have related education or experience and strong communication skills.

Formación

• Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years’ experience in crisis intervention or a similar role.
• Be compassionate, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong communication and computer skills.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Hold First Aid/ CPR certification; ASIST and NCIP assets.
• Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clear background checks.

Responsabilidades

We are looking to hire Casual Crisis Intervention Specialists to join our team at Stepping Stones Crisis Society. Casual staff pick up shifts on short notice and provide scheduled coverage for morning, evening, and overnight shifts.

Duties

• Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and support to women and children in shelter.
• Admit, discharge, and complete intakes and assessments for clients.
• Support a variety of programs including frontline services, child development, and outreach.
• Provide information, referrals, and community resources to clients.
• Transport clients to appointments when necessary.
• Complete documentation and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with program activities and general duties such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry.

The Ideal Candidate Weould

• Have post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Have 1–3 years’ experience in crisis intervention or a similar role.
• Be compassionate, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong communication and computer skills.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Hold current First A**id/CPR (ASIST and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention an asset).
• Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clear Criminal & Child Intervention Checks.
