Job Description
  • Oversee the health and wellbeing of farm animals and livestock staff.
  • Ensure biosecurity measures are implemented according to the biosecurity plan.
  • Instruct Livestock Technicians on duties such as feeding, cleaning, equipment maintenance, and overseeing breeding and healthcare.
  • Ensure animals have adequate food and water, and attend to illnesses or injuries, reporting concerns to the General Manager.
  • Prepare samples of milk, eggs, and chicken for laboratory testing following company procedures.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain records related to production, feeds, and consumables; ensure testing of livestock products as scheduled.
  • Monitor and manage AI procedures during estrus cycles.
  • Oversee training for new employees and liaise with the cropping supervisor on related activities.
  • Verify completion of daily worksheets and submit reports to the Farm Office.
  • Ensure staff adhere to safety policies and take appropriate breaks; report daily to the General Manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Veterinarian on an organic farm, holding a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
  • Experience in livestock and equipment management, disease detection, and quality examination of produce.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate daily livestock activities and collaborate with the Crop Supervisor.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments year-round, with physical activities involved.
