Job summary

A leading company in power generation and distribution seeks an experienced Testing & Commissioning Engineer in Muscat. Candidates must have a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering along with extensive knowledge in testing HV/EHV equipment including transformers and relays. This full-time position requires hands-on experience with modern testing tools and methodologies, specifically in relation to substations and power systems.

• Graduate Electrical Engineers / Diploma Electrical Engineers.
• 10 years experience in Testing and Commissioning of HV/EHV equipment.
• Familiar with relays from all major manufacturers.

Job Description

Testing and Commissioning of Various Make,

• Candidates shall have the capability to generate Testing Method Statements and associated Testing Formats.
• Candidate shall have the capability to understand the Control & Protection Block Logic Drawings and client Trip Matrix Methodologies
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Configuration and Testing of Transformers, generator and motor protection relays, such as SIPROTECH 4 & 5 Series 7 UT 86, GE -L90, HITACHI - RED-670 & RET -670Series, Breaker Failure Relays
• Candidate shall be capable of verifying and testing 400 kV & 132 kV Control & Relay Panel Testing & associated DC Scheme Checks.
• Candidate shall be capable of Performing High Impedance and Low Impedance Bus bar and LV Ref Stability.
• Candidate shall have hands on Experience in Conducting End to End Test with Test Set up of Secondary Injection kit with GPS and verification of 400 KV ,220 kV & 132 kV OHL trip Matrix as per respective client Methodologies / Practices.
• Candidate shall be capable of handling Secondary Injection kits such as CMC 356 and Freja 300, 306.
• Candidate shall be well versed in handling Breaker Timing Kits, Primary Injection Kits, CT Analyzer
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Testing CT, VT, Breaker of 400 kV & 200 kV GIS ,33 kV GIS.
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Testing of 500 MVA; 400/132 kV Auto Transformers, 125 MVA 400/33 kV Power Transformers and 400 kV Shunt Reactors (Fixed and Variable) etc.
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Verifying the Auto Transformer, Power Transformer and Reactors Remote Tap Changer panels and Associated Schemes.
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in arranging Test Set-up and performing Test on 400 kV ,220 kV &132 kV OHL for verifying OHL parameters and shall have the ability to corelate the tested parameters with Approved Relay setting Calculations and generation of necessary suggestions to adjust the provided Relay setting parameters.
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Substation Control System Schemes and shall have the ability to retrieve CID and ICD files from the respective relays to Support the SCS Commissioning
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Testing LV Switch Boards and Associated Change over Schemes.
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in 110 Volt Battery Charger Scheme Test and Battery & Charger Load Testing.
• Candidate shall have hands on experience in Conducting Step and Touch Potential Tests at Field to verify the Theoretical Calculations performed during Engineering Phase.
• Candidate shall be well verse in Preparing Scheme Related Red Mark-ups after DC Scheme Verification and preparation of Test reports etc.

Desired Candidate Profile

Graduate Electrical Engineers / Diploma Electrical Engineers with 10 years Testing and Commissioning of HV/EHV equipment like transformers, switch gears, relays etc associated with 400 KV / 220 KV/ 132 KV/33 KV substations, Transmission Lines / U.G. Cables and in large integrated industrial Projects. Candidates shall be well versed with testing of relays from all major manufactures including scheme testing and commissioning and shall be capable of handling modern testing equipments.
