Job summary

Wood is recruiting an Omani Telecom Engineer to join its Projects team in Oman, delivering FEED and detail design scope. You will create engineering deliverables and execute detail design under supervision, ensuring timely completion to quality standards.

Based in Oman for a long-term assignment, the role offers exposure to brownfield and greenfield projects in oil and gas, with diverse work and opportunities to develop Office Quality standards and technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years in upstream oil & gas engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in FEED/engineering and minimum 8 years in oil & gas experience.
• Good communicator and strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering deliverables for Telecom systems.
• Conduct relevant workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Contribute to Basis for Design, project specifications and detail design execution.
• Perform engineering studies and maintain quality standards affecting Telecoms in FEED Office.
• Coordinate with asset teams and manage technical changes.

In this role, you will be responsibleto create Engineering deliverables and execute detail design under the supervision of a senior engineer for a specific project and ensure timely completion to the required quality standards. Assist senior engineer in developing and updating Office Qualty standards and add value to the work optimization process.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Omani Telecom Engineer will be responsible for :

• Prepare Engineering deliverables.
• Conduct relevant Workshops and Reviews
• Contribute to Basis for Design Concept Selection, Project Specifications and detail design execution.
• Perform Engineering studies, review and maintain Quality and FEED Office standards affecting Telecoms in FEED Office.

Typical responsibilities

• Responsible for initiating the First- Cut design of Telecom system under the accountability of Sr. Engineer
• Responsible for inititating meeting and technical solution discussions between several stake holders of the project.
• Responsible for obtaining As-Built information and aquiring solutions in the absence of As-built information
• Responsible for managing Technical Clarifications- on scope and needs.
• Responsible for coordination with the asset teams for the information
• Manage all technical changes internally and obtaining approval from Discipline Leads.
• Responsible for Scope change confirmation (TIN)
• Accountable for the Decision Making on changes
• Mange all Assurance Reviews and action close outs
• Accountable for Raising + Uploading +Liaising + Technical Variances
• Responsible for approving TPS Final reports
• Responsible for reviewing and approval of design and vendor documents in SPO.
• Responsible for obtaining DEM compliances.
• Maintaining a good relationship with the client is critical to the success of the (design) project and often requires visit to the site and/or client office.
• Be a team player where recognition of team performance as a whole is a greater priority than projecting individual contribution.
• Be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilities.
• Application and maintenance of engineering processes, systems and tools (software).
• Follow/ensure Quality Management System Requirements are met in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirement.
• Shall be abreast with new Telecom technology and innovations.
