Job description

We have an urgent requirement for Technical Lead - Payment Applications (Domestic Card Scheme Program) for our banking client in Oman.

Experience Requirements:
  1. Experience in application support, with at least 10 years in payment systems. --- Must
  2. Proven experience in handling domestic card scheme programs, preferably in the GCC market. --- Must
  3. Manage Payment scheme Projects & CR as a Technical point of contact. This includes Debit cards, credit cards, and POS acquiring Applications. --- Must
  4. Strong knowledge of payment protocols, APIs, and integration technologies. --- Must
  5. Provide necessary support to channels, middleware, and other systems integrated with Payment applications. --- Must
  6. Manage testing specifically SIT and also provide support during other testing phases of the projects including UAT, golive, and post golive support. --- Must

Main Role:
  • Manage Payment scheme Projects & CR as a Technical point of contact. This includes Debit cards, credit cards, and POS acquiring Applications.
  • Provide necessary support to channels, middleware, and other systems integrated with Payment applications.
  • Lead the bank’s initiative for domestic card scheme from a technology perspective.
  • Manage testing specifically SIT and also provide support during other testing phases of the projects including UAT, golive, and post golive support.
  • Manage technical project deliverables in line with the project plan.
  • Record and manage technical project issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Manage skills and techniques including people, communications, risk & change management, with a strong focus on operational excellence.
  • Requirement gathering and analytical skills.
  • Engage in controlled deployment of patches, fixes, and other changes on payment applications to achieve well-documented and controlled deployments.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Payment applications, specifically for domestic card schemes.
  • Understand Payment Scheme application architecture and technical knowledge to analyze the impact of relevant changes.
  • Prepare production technical golive checklist considering deployments done during the testing lifecycle.
  • Proven hands-on experience with payment systems like credit cards, debit cards, and POS acquiring will be a plus.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Provide support to business and operation customers by investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across multiple channels limited to test systems only.
  • Manage, prioritize, and respond to issues, inquiries, and escalations.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders effectively, tactically, and empathetically.
  • Provide insights, suggestions, and feedback to managers and leads.

Analysis, Review, and Advice:
  • Provide dedicated support to finalize the BRD and design specifications FS with the team in the Business Analysis/Pre-development Phase.
  • Prepare Test Setup buildup document which will form the basis for later prod setup buildup, including:
  • Hardware Requirement, Software Requirement, Software patches/updates detail & Setup.
  • Smooth handover of the production environment to the operations department.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL is a must.

Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in application support, with at least 10 years in payment systems.
  • Proven experience in handling domestic card scheme programs, preferably in the GCC market.
  • Strong knowledge of payment protocols, APIs, and integration technologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Soft Skills:
  • Deep understanding of payment processing systems and technologies.
  • Knowledge of major payment networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
  • Familiarity with banking systems and financial protocols.
