Job summary

A leading company in Oman is looking for a skilled Process Engineer to lead design efforts in process engineering. The candidate will be responsible for managing systems' designs, ensuring compliance with international standards, and mentoring junior engineers. Ideal for individuals with a degree in Chemical Engineering and robust experience in process engineering software.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Good knowledge of process engineering software like UNISIM/PIPESIM and transient analysis.
• Familiarity with international standards such as Shell DEPs and API is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leading process discipline design, including review of Basis of Design and resolving technical queries.
• Preparation of cost, time, and resource estimates.
• Reviewing process simulations and engineering deliverables.

Job description

Strategic

1. Leading the process discipline design of engineers & designers, reporting to HOD-Process Engineering.

2. Review of Basis of Design & concept Note document received from client.

3. Raising & resolving technical queries based on the project scope of work.

4. Supporting AIPSM compliance Report by closing process engineering DEM-1/2, LFI/LL, etc.

5. Supporting PDO/Shell Engineering Process Safety Fundamentals in the project design life.

Financial

1. Preparation of cost, time and resource (CTR) for the project & schedule.

2. Interaction with client for the CTR basis & negotiation and finalization of project SOW & Man-hours.

3. Input to management for early procurement activities for the budget of the financial year.

4. Interaction with the business development team related to the engineering software.

Operational

1. Reviewing & carry out process simulations and optimization studies for projects.

2. Review PFS and Heat & Material balances and equipment sizing calculation.

3. Review Process engineering deliverables drawings like - PEFS & PSFS.

4. Review Process engineering deliverable documents like - Project Design Basis, Hydraulic report, operating control & safeguarding

philosophy, Tie-in & Shutdown Philosophy, etc.

5. Provide process engineering support for technical studies - Design HAZID & HAZOP study.

6. Review & Preparation of Design Review report & preparation of its closeout resolution.

7. Review & Preparation of HAZOP Review report & preparation of its closeout resolution.

8. Representing Process department in IPF studies, SIMOP, MOPO, HFE, VCA, Layout Review, ARM.

9. Review Hydraulic & Transient studies results & giving proper input to the engineers.

10. Safeguarding evaluation and Memorandum development.

People Management

1. Interaction with other disciplines engineers for interface management.

2. Follow-up of the project activity & deliverables on timely basis & resolving the bottle-neck issues

3. Development of junior level engineers & designers.

4. Development of Omani Engineer & Designers.

Other Responsibilities

1. Managing timesheet and allocating man-hours to the team.
2. Tender Review, raising technical queries & interactions with the clients for clarifications.
3. Interaction with other disciplines for subject matter expertise for the tender jobs.


Requirements1. Degree in Chemical Engineering.
1. Process Engineering software (UNISIM/PIPESIM,Good knowledge on transient analysis using TL Net or equivalent).
2. Familiar with International standards such as Shell DEPs,API,ASME,TEMA,NFPA,PDO standards.
3. Having good communication skills.
4. DA2 approval from PDO/SHELL is highly preferred.
