Job summary

Hydrocarbon Finder in Oman is seeking a Senior Well Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary drilling, completions and work-over team. You will drive well planning, design and execution to deliver wells on time and within budget while upholding HSE standards.

The role demands 10–15+ years in E&P, robust deep-drilling experience and IWCF Supervisor certification, with strong English communication and agile mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Engineering degree or equivalent technical discipline.
• 10+ years, preferably 15+ years, in E&P well engineering with expertise in planning, design, programming and construction including completions.
• Regional exposure in Oman with Drilling and CWI activities preferred.
• Proven ability to predict downhole conditions and apply preventive techniques.
• IWCF Supervisor/Level 4 Surface Stack certification.
• Robust experience in deep drilling environments.
• Casing & tubing design, cement design, fluids/mud programmes, BHA designs and hydraulics optimization.
• Fully conversant with Well Planning software, directional drilling and horizontal well operations; strong leadership in onshore oilfield operations.
• Experience in Contract Management as Contract Holder or Deputy Contract Holder.
• Continuous improvement mindset with knowledge of Agile ways of working.
• Excellent technical English communication (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Line management of Well Engineers and development of team members.
• Provide rig-operations technical support to optimize drilling, completion, workover and abandonment.
• Drive continuous improvement and performance reviews; implement learning initiatives.
• Support rig-site Drilling Supervisors with timely technical information and decisions.
• Monitor costs and ensure cost-effective techniques and equipment are used.
• Standardize drilling/CWI assemblies and lead trial initiatives with measurable feedback.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and timely lookaheads for resources.
