Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Traffic Subject Matter Expert to join our Transport & Infrastructure team on a major project based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This leadership role oversees all traffic engineering and traffic management throughout construction and operation.

You will review plans, mentor staff, coordinate with authorities and contractors, and ensure designs comply with local and international standards while optimizing traffic flow and safeguarding public access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil or Traffic Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years in traffic engineering; 5+ years in senior/ SME role.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure/transport projects in GCC or KSA.
• Strong knowledge of KSA regulatory frameworks (MOT, Riyadh Municipality, Royal Commission).
• Proficiency with traffic management software: AutoCAD, Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and supervision of traffic management plans and detour strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with local standards and international best practices.
• Coordinate with authorities, contractors, and supervision teams.
• Monitor on-site implementation of traffic control measures and safety.
• Identify and mitigate traffic-related risks; support project interface coordination.
• Provide guidance on traffic flow optimization and public access during construction.
• Develop incident response plans and maintain emergency access routes.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to capacity building.
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and briefings for stakeholders.
