Job summary

OQ in Oman seeks an Expert for LP and APS modelling to sustain and improve refinery scheduling and optimization. You will own model accuracy, update cycles, and analytics supporting margin maximization, working with Process Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams.

You will lead data management, assay handling and automation initiatives while ensuring governance and timely reporting to enable value-driven decisions across the refinery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• 10+ years of relevant experience in production planning or refinery optimization
• Proficiency in Aspen PIMS or equivalent refinery optimization software
• Proficiency in Aspen Petroleum Scheduler (APS) or equivalent scheduling software
• Strong data management, analytical and reporting automation skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities

Responsibilities

• Maintain, validate and continuously enhance the LP model to reflect refinery configuration, unit performance, constraints and economics.
• Maintain and optimize the APS scheduling model to reflect operations, logistics, inventories and scheduling limits.
• Coordinate with Process Engineering, Operations and Commercial functions for model inputs and updates.
• Deliver validated, up-to-date models and supporting insights within planning deadlines.
• Develop reporting dashboards, automation and data-analytics to improve planning effectiveness.
• Ensure model governance, data accuracy and comprehensive documentation of change history.
