Wood is recruiting a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our team in Oman for a one-year assignment. You will lead pipeline design efforts for refinery and petrochemical projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with standards.

You will coordinate across disciplines, supervise stress analysis, and deliver robust, economical solutions for cross-country pipelines (>100 Km and >20 inches). The role emphasizes safety and collaboration with Asset Owners.

Formación

• Minimum 15 years of experience in similar projects.
• Engineering Degree with relevant certification.
• Experience in refinery and petrochemical projects preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Execute the Pipeline Engineering technical detailed design scope and ensure best practices are applied.
• Prepare documentation and select optimum pipeline design from technical and economic standpoints.
• Ensure design methods and data conform to Asset Owners requirements and Centre of Excellence standards.
• Prepare the Pipeline and Stress Analysis Philosophy document with user requirements.
• Assign pipeline engineering resources and monitor performance to deliver all outputs.
• Coordinate, execute, and progress pipeline engineering design across distances (>100 Km) and pipe sizes (>20”).
• Ensure accuracy of pipeline layouts, standards, and isometrics.
• Oversee stress analysis per company procedures and international practices.
• Maintain safety, quality, and economy in pipeline design applications.
• Liaise with vendor reps and other functions on pipeline design and execution.
• Adhere to OQ safety and quality control procedures and promote safe working practices.
• Participate in discussions with Asset Owners to define user requirements.
• Analyze deliverables and participate in project reviews and workshops.
• Identify gaps and develop new practices or toolkit items.
• Conduct or supervise site inspections for accuracy of pipelines and equipment.
• Coordinate, execute, and progress pipeline engineering design.
• Report safety breaches to supervision/management.
• Promote health and safety campaigns and ensure personal safety of team.
• Other relevant duties as requested.

Typical responsibilities

• Execute the Pipeline Engineering technical detailed design scope and endeavour to bring out the best practices and approaches to deliver the technical requirements.
• Prepare the necessary documentation, establishing major methods and data as necessary, and ensure the selection of the optimum Pipeline design from both technical and economic standpoints.
• Ensure that design method, standards and data used conform to Asset Owners requirements and/or those issued by Centre of Excellence.
• Ensure the preparation of the Pipeline and Stress Analysis Philosophy document incorporating user requirements.
• In consultation with Project Delivery Skill-pool, assign appropriate Pipeline engineering resources and monitor performance to ensure all Pipeline Engineering deliverables are accomplished.
• Be responsible for the coordination, execution, cross country (< >100 Km), size (>20”) and progress of Pipeline Engineering design.
• Be responsible for the accuracy of Pipeline layouts, standards, and isometrics.
• Be responsible for stress analysis of all Pipeline as per company procedures and/or approved international practices
• Be responsible for technical accuracy, quality, and economy of Pipeline engineering applications design.
• Liaise with Vendor’s pears representatives and other functions on all matters relating to pipeline engineering design and execution.
• Ensure OQ Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all work and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all design work.
• Participate pre and post contract award in discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements.
• Analyses Pipeline Engineering Deliverables and participate in project reviews and workshops.
• Participate in solving specific Pipeline engineering challenges that are recognised during the development of the Front End Package or detailed engineering
• Identify specifics gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance OQ technological offerings.
• Conduct or supervise site inspection for accuracy of Pipeline and equipment including mechanical walk-downs.
• Be responsible for the coordination, execution, and progress of pipeline engineering design.
• Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision/management.
• Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times.
• Other relevant duties as requested from time to time.
