Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work.
Position is based in Muscat, Oman.
Typical Responsibilities
- Carry out the Material & Corrosion Engineering FEED activities (Define stage) for a Mega Project and/or several Medium Projects to generate relevant FEED deliverables on time, meeting QMS and DCAF requirements.
- Ensure design integrity and deliverables quality for all areas within a Mega project with special emphasis on interfaces and continuous improvements.
- Develop CTR based on scope of work and provide input to finalise the project execution schedule.
- Manage work assignments, workload, forecasting for assigned project.
- Participate in HAZID, Design Reviews, HAZOPs, 3D Model Reviews, IPF classifications, and HSE workshops.
- Implement, practice and monitor Quality Management System in assigned projects in line with ISO 9001-2015, API Q2 2nd edition and DCAF requirements.
- Collaborate, build relationships and manage interfaces with other FEED Office disciplines, asset project teams, etc.
- Ensure seamless handover of FEED deliverables to asset project and operations teams.
- Ensure meeting document control deadlines.
- Knowledge transfer to Omani staff.
- Maintain good relationship with the project team.
- Promote team working environment where recognition of team performance is a priority.
- Demonstrate repeatability and constant improvement across geographic, technical, and cultural differences.
- Develop and share best practices, work processes, systems and tools based on experience.
- Handle efficiently multiple medium projects.
- Analyze and support technical deviation to company, Shell, or international standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years in FEED/Engineering and minimum 10 years in oil & gas experience.
- Work in a matrix organization and handle multiple reporting relationships and project responsibilities.
- Effectively work with diverse, multicultural teams, peers and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- TA2 Certification.
