Job summary

SPK Power Infra seeks an experienced Lifting Engineer in Oman with a strong background in steel structure fabrication, erection, and heavy lifting operations. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise lifting activities to ensure safe handling, loading, unloading, and installation of steel structures in line with project requirements and HSE standards.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of lifting operations experience, know crane load charts and rigging calculations, and can prepare lifting plans.

Qualifications

• Candidates with lifting-engineering knowledge and crane operation understanding.
• Experience with rigging calculations and lifting plans preferred.
• Awareness of HSE standards and site safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments for steel structure lifting and erection activities.
• Plan lifting operations with mobile, crawler, and tower cranes and other equipment.
• Calculate load weights, crane capacity, boom length, sling angles, and rigging needs.
• Select cranes, slings, shackles, spreader beams, and other rigging gear.
• Coordinate with fabrication, erection, and site teams for safe execution.
• Verify weight, dimensions, CG, and lifting points of steel structures before lifts.
• Ensure lifting gear has valid certificates and is fit for use.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure suitable ground conditions and crane positioning.
• Ensure compliance with lifting plans, specs, and Oman HSE regulations.
• Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and signalmen for safe lifting.
• Identify hazards and implement controls to prevent incidents.
• Monitor lifts and maintain records of plans, inspections, and permits.
• Participate in toolbox talks and incident investigations as required.
