Job summary

OQ is seeking a Lead Geoscientist based in Muscat, Oman, to oversee and integrate all geoscience activities under the Commercial structure. The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in Geology or relevant science subject, an MSc is desirable, and at least 8 years of experience in an operator role related to exploration or new ventures. Responsibilities include maximizing subsurface value and supporting investment decisions through excellent subsurface evaluations and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of Landmark, Petrel, and ArcGIS required, with leadership and communication skills essential for success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in Exploration.
• Broad geoscience knowledge and experience in upstream oil and gas activities.
• Strong experience in geological modelling and well operations planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and integrate Geoscience activities to maximize subsurface value.
• Align G&G strategies with corporate growth objectives.
• Oversee basin analysis, play fairway evaluation, and prospect generation.
