Oman Investment Authority is seeking a Senior Engineer Conveyors & Utilities Maintenance to lead reliability, availability and performance optimization across conveyors, recycling, and utility systems within mineral processing operations.
You will drive maintenance strategies, shutdown planning, RCFA/FMEA, asset integrity, and continuous improvement while coordinating with Operations and Project teams to maximize plant uptime and minimize lifecycle costs.
The Senior Engineer Conveyors amp Utilities Maintenance is responsible for leading the maintenance reliability availability and performance optimization of conveyor systems stacking systems reclaiming systems feeders transfer stations utility systems and associated plant equipment within mineral processing operations. The role ensures the safe reliable and cost-effective operation of conveyors and utility assets through effective maintenance strategies shutdown planning reliability improvement initiatives asset integrity management and continuous improvement programs. The position provides technical leadership to maintenance teams supports operational excellence and maximizes equipment availability while minimizing lifecycle costs and production losses. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of conveyor belts pulleys idlers drives gearboxes feeders stacking systems reclaiming systems compressed air systems process water systems fire water systems pumps utility distribution networks and associated mechanical equipment. The role works closely with Operations Reliability Electrical Instrumentation and Project teams to achieve production safety utility availability and asset performance objectives while ensuring compliance with safety environmental and asset management standards.
Lead maintenance activities for conveyor systems transfer stations feeders stacking amp reclaiming systems utility systems pumps compressors and auxiliary equipment Ensure maintenance practices support safe reliable and efficient plant operation Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and availability Monitor equipment condition and recommend corrective and preventive actions Ensure compliance with OEM recommendations maintenance standards and statutory requirements Support long-term asset lifecycle management and replacement planning Provide technical guidance on maintenance planning scheduling and execution
Lead reliability improvement initiatives for conveyors pulleys idlers belt cleaners drives gearboxes feeders pumps compressors and utility systems Analyze equipment failures and identify opportunities to improve reliability and maintainability Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis RCFA for major equipment breakdowns Facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA studies Identify recurring equipment issues and implement sustainable corrective actions Develop reliability-centered maintenance strategies Monitor equipment performance against established reliability and availability KPIs
Support development of annual maintenance plans and budgets for conveyor and utility assets Review and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs Optimize maintenance frequencies and task scopes based on equipment criticality and performance Coordinate maintenance resources for planned and corrective maintenance activities Ensure work orders are properly executed documented and closed in SAP PM Improve maintenance work management processes and effectiveness Monitor maintenance backlog and prioritize critical equipment activities
Lead preparation and execution of conveyor stacker reclaimer and utility system shutdown activities Develop shutdown scopes resource requirements budgets and schedules Coordinate contractors and internal teams during shutdown execution Monitor shutdown progress and manage critical path activities Ensure shutdown work complies with safety environmental and quality requirements Conduct post-shutdown reviews and capture lessons learned
Ensure the mechanical integrity of critical conveyors and utility equipment Monitor wear-life performance of belts pulleys idlers chutes drives pumps compressors and utility systems Review inspection findings and establish corrective maintenance actions Support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs Participate in risk assessments and asset criticality evaluations Ensure compliance with asset management standards and engineering requirements
Provide advanced troubleshooting support for major conveyor and utility equipment failures Review vibration analysis thermography lubrication analysis and condition monitoring reports Support operations in resolving equipment performance and reliability issues Evaluate equipment modifications and engineering improvements Review of OEM recommendations technical reports and equipment upgrade proposals Support commissioning testing and startup of new equipment and system modifications
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance conveyor availability material handling efficiency utility system reliability and plant throughput Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and minimize unplanned downtime Implement reliability improvement and Lean Maintenance methodologies Develop business cases for equipment upgrades and improvement projects Track and report benefits realized from improvement initiatives Promote maintenance and operational best practices across the organization
Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field or higher Diploma
Bachelor s Degree with 10 years or Higher Diploma with 15 years of experience in a Concentrator Plant related process plant with similar type of equipment 8 years of experience in the mining processing industry or related
Proven track record of successfully managing maintenance in large-scale processing maintenance
Candidates holding or pursuing any of the following certifications will have an added advantage Six-sigma BB
