Job Description

Wood is currently hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our office in Muscat, Oman. In this role you will execute the activities and processes associated with Electrical Engineering in the Project. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, commissioning and Operation oil & gas industry . Responsible for supporting and execute general engineering activities directly linked to Electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Electrical engineering practices, standards, and design codes.
  • Assist Electrical engineers in reviewing engineering deliverables.
  • Compile information from contractor reports; evaluate and analyze compiled information using Electrical engineering standards and codes.
  • Attend engineering reviews and meetings.
  • Actively participate in the engineering reviews
  • Coordinate, prepare, and make a recording of engineering reviews as assigned by the Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Follow up turnover of the Electrical engineering documents.
  • Participate in equipment selection and procurement process.
  • Attend workshop and site inspection of Electrical facilities as the plan permits.
  • Participate in solving Electrical engineering challenges that are recognized during the development of the Front End Package or detailed engineering
  • Inspect project site to monitor HSE, progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and project standards.
  • Identify gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance company technological offering.
  • Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision/management.
  • Participate pre and post contract award in discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements.
  • Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times.
  • Be responsible for the coordination, execution, and progress of Electrical Engineering design.
  • Be responsible for technical accuracy, quality, and economy of Electrical engineering applications design.
  • Ensure company Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all work and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all design work.
  • Other relevant duties as requested from time to time..

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Middle East is preferred.
  • experience working in operating company preferred.
  • Proven core Electrical Engineering skills, including design experience (FEED and detail engineering) and preferably in the Oil & Gas sector
