Job summary

Wood in Oman is seeking a Senior Cost Estimation Engineer to support FEED and detail design scopes. The role involves analyzing scope, documents, quantities and material take-offs to enable cost forecasting and benchmarking.

Based in Sohar, the candidate will contribute to continuous estimating improvements and mentor junior engineers in a multi-disciplinary team of oil & gas professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline is required.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas with at least 5 years in a similar role.
• Experience in refinery projects is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review CAPEX/OPEX cost estimates (Class 5 to Class 1) for Oil & Gas projects.
• Analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities, and material take-offs.
• Develop estimate basis, cost breakdowns, contingencies, and risk assessments.
• Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and maintain estimating databases.
• Support tender evaluations, vendor quotations, budgeting, and cost forecasting.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on funding, estimates and investment decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and mentor junior engineers.
