Job summary

A leading company in the Oil & Gas sector is seeking a Senior Concept Designer to deliver high-quality conceptual engineering support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering design, particularly in oil and gas projects, and will lead multi-disciplinary teams to meet HSE standards and project goals. This full-time position involves coaching and mentoring junior engineers while implementing lean principles for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Job Description

• Deliver an optimized and robust Concept Selection Report (CSR) and preliminary Basis for Design (BfD).
• Define high-level project scope and work plan for the next phase (FEED/DD).
• Take on a leadership role within the Opportunity Management team, effectively manage multi-disciplinary engineers, and ensure diverse stakeholders' involvement.
• Ensure the selected concept meets ALARP HSE standards, asset integrity, and operability requirements.
• Lead key project assurance events (e.g., workshops, reviews, health checks, peer assists).
• Provide expert concept engineering support, including for non-routine opportunities.
• Coach and mentor less experienced concept engineering staff.
• Apply lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform GHG calculations for various concepts and contribute to net-zero emission workshops
• Lead and deliver Conceptual Engineering for integrated Oil & Gas field developments
• Provide specialist Process Engineering support within integrated opportunity maturation teams

Desired Candidate Profile

• MSc. degree in Engineering and a member of an internationally accepted professional institute.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience, of which at least 5 years in Engineering Design Consultants dealing with oil and gas facilities.
• Experience in oil, gas, water, and condensate systems. Experience with sour hydrocarbons is desired, and/or EOR is desired.
• Knowledge of industry-wide process simulation software such as PIPESIM and UNISYM.
• Conversant with international standards and preferably also with Shell DEPs.
