Job summary

Alkan CIT is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer in Muscat to design, implement, and optimise cloud-based infrastructure for regional clients. The role focuses on Linux-based servers, OpenStack, and KVM hypervisors, with automation via Ansible and Satellite for OS updates.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and secure cloud deployments, aligning with regulatory requirements and business goals.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of OpenStack solutions such as Red Hat OpenStack platform including Cinder integration with SAN storage, configure OpenStack API services proxy server, neutron integration.
• Administration of Red Hat OpenStack platform (Add/delete/upgrade compute nodes, maintain controller nodes, manage networks, subnets, routers, security groups, images, instances, volumes, snapshots).
• Deploy and Manage KVM hypervisor servers (build KVM servers, create VMs, migrate VMs, manage KVM Management VLANs).
• Configure and manage Ansible server for automation and administration tasks.
• Configure and manage Red Hat Satellite to manage OS updates, sync repos, add hosts, manage keys and subscriptions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise cloud-based infrastructure solutions for regional clients.
• Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to automate deployments and improve reliability.
• Provide guidance on cloud adoption, migration strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and standards for cloud environments.
