Job summary

Muscat Engineering Consultancy LLC is seeking a Principal/Lead Engineer (Civil, Structural & Architectural) to lead design across projects, ensuring compliance with international specs and company standards.

The role requires at least 15 years in civil, structural and architectural design, preferably in oil & gas facilities, with some frontend and detailed design experience. English communication and report-writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in the design and specification of civil, structural, architectural structures, preferably in oil & gas facilities.
• Some Field experience in construction or commissioning is preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English and ability to prepare clear concise reports and conduct discussions with the Client / Vendors, prepare minutes and effectively close-out pending issues.
• Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng/M.Sc.)

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering expertise to all project design phases.
• Support designers and draftsman with engineering input.
• Ensure that equipment vendors provide timely and high quality product to front-end and detailed design package.
• Ensure design packages meet the required safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.
• Ensure design packages take account of technical progress within the industry.
• On request, monitor construction, testing and commissioning work for compliance with the project specification.
• Manage all interfaces of the related discipline with other disciplines and design product suppliers.
• Preparation of requisitions and technical evaluation of subsequent bids for discipline material and equipment purchases.
• Ensure designs are executed in line with International / Company specifications, standards and procedures.
• Identify potential applications for new technology.
• Provide feedback on improvement to the Company’s design standards
