Wood is currently seeking a Security Lead to support our projects business. The role involves contributing to the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote site in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of all Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for the client project, ensuring 100% compliance with the Saudi Supreme Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) Safety and Security Directives (SEC).
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for all HCIS‑related matters for the client project.
  • Ensure all security designs (Concept, Preliminary, and Detailed) align with HCIS SEC Directives (SEC‑01 to SEC‑15).
  • Manage the workflow of the Workflow Management System (WMS) for HCIS approvals.
  • Coordinate with the HCIS‑approved consultant to ensure the Security Risk Assessment (SRA) and Security Concept Design (SCD) are accurately implemented by the EPC contractor.
  • Review and approve EPC contractor deliverables, including layouts, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical data sheets for security systems.
  • Oversee the integration of Electronic Security Systems, including IVMS (Integrated Video Management System/CCTV), ACS (Access Control Systems), Security Communications (TETRA, Radio, Intercoms), and E‑Gates and long‑range readers.
  • Ensure the Security Command & Control Center (SCCC) is designed according to ergonomic and functional HCIS standards.
  • Monitor EPC contractor progress against the project schedule to ensure no delays in security milestones.
  • Lead technical bid evaluations for security sub‑vendors.
  • Supervise Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical security equipment.
  • Perform regular site audits during the construction phase to ensure installation matches the approved HCIS “Issued for Construction” (IFC) drawings.
  • Collaborate with the internal security department to align project delivery with operational requirements.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines (Telecom, Power, Civil) to ensure seamless integration of security infrastructure (backbone fiber, power supply, and fencing).

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15–20 years in Security Systems Engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas or Mining sectors in Saudi Arabia.
  • HCIS Expertise: Proven track record of delivering projects under the Saudi Supreme Commission for Industrial Security regulations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ma’aden’s standards and Wood’s IPMT delivery methodology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in security CAD drawings, risk assessment methodologies, and integrated security software platforms.
  • Strong command of English (Technical Writing) and preferably Arabic (for local authority coordination).
  • Ability to challenge EPC contractor designs to ensure cost‑effectiveness without compromising HCIS compliance.
  • Leadership skills to manage multi‑disciplinary security vendors.
