Role Purpose

Responsible for overseeing and conducting detailed security assessments and design reviews for all new implementations, upgrades, and major changes in technology projects to maintain a robust security architecture that protects the organization's telecom and IT infrastructure, systems, and data. Ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualification: Bachelor in relevant field

Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, TOGAF, AWS Security, CISM, GIAC, etc.

• Experience:

Proficient: 7 years of experience

Senior Proficient: 8 years of experience

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct design reviews, integration recommendations, and ensure that all projects (IT & Telecom) comply with Omantel's cybersecurity requirements.
• Identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions to protect Omantel's technological infrastructure.
• Ensure that IT and telecommunication technologies are implemented securely, aligning with industry best practices and international standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NIST.
• Track and report on the performance of security measures.
• Perform regular risk assessments, implement controls to mitigate risks, and maintain the organization’s risk appetite.
• Assist in developing and executing security strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance Omantel's security posture.
• Lead the integration of advanced security measures across platforms and projects.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud security transformations to improve security and operational efficiency.
• Guide vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance with international standards.
• Support security in project lifecycle phases, including business case reviews, RFP creation, and tender evaluations.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing within the department.
• Contribute to strategic security decisions and initiatives, shaping security policies and procedures.
• Advise on emerging security trends and technologies to management.
