Job summary

Green Umbrella Recruitment in Muscat is seeking a risk analyst to issue comprehensive opinions on risks inherent in financial transactions, conduct detailed financial analysis, and build stress-testing models to evaluate counterparty credit, market, and project risks. You will monitor financial standing, repayment capacity, and collateral sufficiency for clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills required.
  • Experience with financial statement analysis, cash-flow modeling, and ratio analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate risk insights clearly.
  • Familiarity with credit risk concepts and risk metrics.
  • ACCA/CFA preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment of counterparty risk and related risks (credit, market, project, FX).
  • Analyze transaction aspects and determine risk mitigants to improve structures.
  • Perform financial analysis of counterparties (statements, cash-flows, models, stress-tests).
  • Ensure timeliness and continuity of monitoring procedures.
  • Assist with documentation turnover under operational risk management and risk reporting.
  • Prepare reports and draft presentations for risk committees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth information flow.

This role is mainly responsiblefor issue of comprehensive risk opinions on risks inherent in financialtransactions entered into by the Company. The employee is supposed to conductdetailed financial analysis, build stress-testing models, and issue independentopinions to evaluate counterparty credit, market and project risks for newclients as well as to monitor financial standing, repayment capacity andcollateral sufficiency for existing clients. Additionally, the position impliesdiverse tasks including portfolio quality control through continuousmonitoring, risk committee support, and detailed operational reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessment ofcounterparty risk and corresponding risks (credit risk, market risk, projectrisk, FX risk etc.);
  • Analyze different aspects of transactions with counterparties and work out risk mitigants (measures,terms and conditions) to improve transactions structures;
  • Conduct financial analysisof counterparties (financial statements, cash-flows, financial models,stress-testing, etc.) and issue independent opinions;
  • Ensure timeliness andcontinuity of monitoring procedure;
  • Assist with documentturnover under operational risk management;
  • Assist with preparation ofreports and drafting presentations;
  • Assist with Risk committeeprocedure;
  • Work in close cooperationwith other departments, ensure smooth information flows and exchange;
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks asrequested by Head of Risks;
Requirements
  • Education: MSc inFinance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, IT or another quantitative field
  • Professional Certifications: ACCA, CFA (preferred)
  • Years of Experience: 5-7
  • Good numerical ability, attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving;
  • Hard-working, result-oriented, curious, fast learner;
  • Ability to meet tightdeadlines and to prioritize tasks;
  • Ability to workindependently and as part of a team;
  • Experience in / knowledgeof financial analysis theory (BS/IS structure, ratios, CF analysis, etc.);
  • Understanding of mainconcepts of economic theory and macroeconomics;
  • Knowledge of credit riskfundamentals and credit risk exposure metrics;
  • Basic understanding of contractual law;
  • Understanding of basics of shipping business;
