Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Urban Planning, Real Estate, Economics, Public Policy, Architecture, or related).
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience are welcome to apply.
• Strong interest in urban development, real estate, and economic policy.
• Good research, analytical, and data handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Support data collection, desk research, and literature reviews related to urban planning and real estate development.
• Assist in mapping and analyzing the sector value chain, including development processes and key stakeholders.
• Support the review of policies, regulations, and institutional frameworks affecting the sector.
• Assist in analyzing sector trends, investment opportunities, and development challenges.
• Contribute to preparing research outputs, including reports, presentations, and briefing notes.
• Support stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, interviews, and meetings.
• Compile and organize data and research materials from multiple sources.
• Support senior researchers and project teams in day-to-day research activities.

About the Role

Majan Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a strategic national project focused on the urban planning and real estate development sector in Oman, in collaboration with a government entity.

The role involves supporting research, data collection, and analysis across the sector value chain, while contributing to the development of insights related to urban growth, investment, sector performance, and economic development. The Research Assistant will work closely with senior researchers and project teams in a “think-and-do” environment, translating research into practical, policy-relevant outputs aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career candidates to gain hands-on experience in applied research within a high-impact, multidisciplinary setting.

Requirements
