Job summary

Confidential Careers in Oman is seeking a Planning Engineer for a Railway Project to develop, monitor, and update project schedules in line with milestones and contractual requirements.

The role requires Primavera P6 and Excel proficiency, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with baseline and recovery schedules, delay analysis, and EOT submissions. 5-8 years in rail or major infrastructure is preferred. On-site coordination with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 5-8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
• Experience in railway, metro or major infrastructure projects preferred.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, critical path analysis, progress monitoring and reporting.
• Experience preparing baseline programmes, recovery schedules and delay analysis.
• Excellent analytical, coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and update project schedules in line with milestones and contractual requirements.
• Prepare baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules, progress reports, and recovery plans.
• Monitor project progress and identify delays, critical activities, and potential risks.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement and project management teams to ensure timely project execution.
• Track actual progress against planned targets and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms and other planning deliverables.
• Support delay analysis, programme revisions and extension of time submissions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants regarding project schedules and progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with project planning procedures and reporting requirements.
