Job summary

OCI in Muscat is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to align cable designs with project and client requirements, ensuring compliance with OCI specifications.

You will generate datasheets, TDS, drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), prepare BOMs, and support pre- and post-order activities, including SAP code issuance and technical clarifications. The role collaborates with the commercial team to respond to enquiries and supports KPI attainment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CAD tools.
• Experience with cable design tools and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design cables per project requirements and applicable standards.
• Prepare BOM, datasheets, drawings, and deviation sheets.
• Generate CAD drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Support post-order activities with technical documentation and data updates.
• Assist with SAP code generation and customer enquiry responses.

Job description

Overview

As part of the technical team responsible for ensuring the appropriate cable designs for each project considering OCI's needs and capabilities and the customer's needs.

Responsibilities

• Work on commercial enquiry Pre, and, Post Order.
• Design cables in accordance with the parameters provided by applicable standards, customers and OCI.
• Support OCI's strategic goals and department KPI.
• Pre Order: Understand the technical requirements of the customer in terms of cable and design the cable as per the project requirements; analyze customer needs with respect to OCI product range and provide feedback; support the commercial team with timely response to customer enquiry, issuing SAP codes.
• Generate technical documents such as datasheet, TDS, cable drawing (AutoCAD and SolidWorks), and clarification-deviation sheet.
• Prepare BOM, verify with specifications, calculation, and manufacturing values; prepare CA items, verify with specification design guidelines and manufacturing instructions.
• Post Order: Ensure final item codes, special instructions and other technical information as per final approved documents; review database; issue cable datasheet, cross-sectional drawings, BOM in OCI standard format.
• Maintain commonly asked clarification and deviation list; work on deviation points to comply with future enquiry.
