Job Description

Purpose

The main purpose of the project engineer is to assist in the development, design & construction management, and coordination with operators and S&M team of SDIC’s projects in Oman. The role is to protect the interests of the company and its partners from losses, claims, and liabilities.

Strategic Contribution

  • Assist the Project Manager with project construction planning.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Contribute to project budget preparation and monitor financial performance, identifying areas of concern.
  • Implement departmental policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and quality service delivery.

People

  • Coordinate with team members.
  • Coach trainees.
  • Interact with other departments to manage assigned projects.

Operational

  • Manage relationships with internal and external entities, ensuring ethical standards and effective service delivery.
  • Assist in preparing start-up and close-out checklists for construction packages.
  • Help prepare and update detailed project construction schedules in coordination with the Project Manager, contractors, and consultants.
  • Track drawings, contract documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and material logs.
  • Assist in developing monthly project status reports and cost analyses.
  • Maintain knowledge of all project plans, specifications, and documents.
  • Assist in processing payments and invoices promptly.
  • Keep the Head of Development informed of project issues.
  • Encourage continuous improvement in systems, processes, and practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
